What T-Day has done to my house

I had to send Jean (our T-Day Director) an e-mail this morning as to what T-Day is doing in our house so I thought I would also share it with you, here it goes:

Jean,

I thought you may want to know your bug is catching onto everyone in our house. The best way to tell this story would be in monologue style, so here goes.

First let me introduce you to everyone. My name is Jacki Varacalli and I work with TWCCTW/MPM (I think we all knew that), my husband’s name is Mark and our 7 year old daughter is Zoe. My 3 year old son’s name is Brandon but because most of his input was “Yeah, ok” or “Let’s do it” I have decided to leave him out of it but just know that he is all about this too.

Sunday morning Zoe came up from the basement with a toy cash register in hand and her brother running behind her.

Zoe: Look Daddy, I’m collecting money for people that don’t have homes!

Mark: That’s a great idea Zoe.

Zoe went running up to me; her mom and pushed the button to open the drawer on the cash register, as she did there was money sticking out every where, coins and paper money both.

Jacki: Zoe why don’t you put your money away so you don’t lose it.

Zoe: No, I’m giving it to people that don’t have a home!

Mark: It’s just the money from the kid’s bank down stairs.

Jacki: No it’s not, that’s her money from her birthdays, chores and even the tooth fairy too.

Zoe: But mom… I want to give it to the people that don’t have a home!

Jacki: I think it’s a great idea Zoe and very kind of you.

That afternoon she started doing the dishes.

Zoe: I’m doing chores so I can earn more money for the homeless, I don’t want points, I want money for this.

We have a points system so the kids earn points to get things they want including TV time, computer time, special outings and extras.

Mark: Since you are doing this for a cause I think you can earn points and money for doing these chores.

Jacki: I think that’s a great idea and I will match everything she earns and donate it to her cause.

The next day Zoe came home from school very excited.

Zoe: Mom, Nicholas is going to help me collect money! He is going to start doing chores so he can get money to give to the people that don’t have homes.

This brought on a very long conversation about how we can send out fliers to her classmates to let them know what she is doing and how she can do this for her own T-Day project. She was involved in the school grounds clean up for this month’s T-Day project so she was very excited to do this on her own; she has always been very grown up. It then turned into how we can have the children that raise the money take it to the shelter on Sat. 4/4. Then she decided when she grows up she would like to start a shelter of her own so that no one ever has to sleep outside again. This is something that has bothered her since we were walking around DC when she was 3 and said “Mommy, why is that man sleeping on the side walk?” Since that day we have planned to do a Habitat for Humanity project as soon as she turns 16(the minimum build age).

I am so thankful to TWCCTW, we were fortunate enough to host the SIFA choir children and we were able to be involved in their entire US trip by following their journey through their blog. I think a lot of the conversations that came from that and now T-Day are ones children usually don’t have until they are much older and less selfish. My husband and I volunteer with a group of friends and family every year for the National MS Society so the practice of giving back is nothing new to our family but to have my 7 year old start her own T-Day project made me so proud. Way to go Zoe!

Jean, we now have 2 projects scheduled for the April T-Day and I will let you know how both go. Thank you for making T-Day a reality, I can already see how it is going to spread so widely and that many changes are about to happen.

Where have I been?

Well as usual, time has gotten away from me. I have started the Coaching Calls and I am enjoying talking to new people as well as some that I get to catch up with. We have had many callers but some days people are VERY shy and don't want to ask questions or share and that is ok, matter of fact it gives me a little extra time in my day to get other things done. I love doing the calls and have started a new format, I will be discussing a marketing stratigity each day. Since today is Tues we have already talked about Social Networking and MPM videos from www.mpmvideo.com. Since Social networking is such a large topic we will be working on other ideas this week that will tie into it.

I am also spending time today contacting my own team to join me for the call on Wed. We will be talking about goal setting. Please feel free to invite your teams as well so that we can get you all connected. Here is the e-mail I have been sending out to everyone today:

Please join me tomorrow, Wednesday March 18, 2009 on Together We Can Change The World Radio to talk about goal setting. Let’s work together to find out where you want this business to take you and come up with a plan to get to your end goal. Please call in to the show or log in through your computer.

Wednesday 5 PM PST

These Coaching Calls are open to everyone in the company so please invite your team to join you. It’s a great way to get connected, reconnect and stay connected. The calls take place daily Mon. – Thurs. and I look forward to speaking with you all. If you have a team call you would like to do and schedule with me I would be happy to help you host it just let me know. I know it has been awhile since some of us have spoken so now is the time. I concentrate everyday on teaching the company how to grow their business and I would now like to take the time to concentrate on my teams and help them with their own teams. If you don’t yet have your own team then lets work together to make that happen. Please feel free to join me any day that we are there, here is the schedule:

Monday 5 PM PST

Tuesday 10 AM PST

Wednesday 5 PM PST

Thursday 10 AM PST

If you have ever spoken with me you will know that I don’t except excuses, they just don’t fly with me. If I hear someone say that they couldn’t make MPM work because they didn’t know what to do or have someone to guide them I will always say, “that excuse won’t work with me”. With all that MPM provides in the way or training EVERYONE can build a successful business if they are willing to work. Just as with a J-O-B if you want a paycheck you must 1. Show up to work 2. Actually work 3. Do it every day/shift. These same principles apply to your MPM business. If you own a brick and mortar store do you have to open your doors every day so your business will succeed? Of course you do. If you decided on a whim when to work and no one knew when your business hours were do you think you would have much business? How about consistent business? I need everyone to take a moment and think about these things and then decide what you want to achieve with MPM. Once you decide what you want out of MPM join me to come up with a plan. We will set goals, set up a plan to achieve the goals and teach you how to check along the way to see if you are still on the right path.

I look forward to talking with you on the upcoming calls,

Jacki Varacalli

Friday the 13th

I'm pretty sure Friday the 13th is supposed to be a bad day but guess what... we make it what we want it to be. As Boot Campers we either already knew this or we most certainly learned it in the past few months. We get to choose what our day can be. We get to choose weather we are going to have a great day or let things effect us in a negative manner.

Today was a day to celebrate, although bitter sweet like I wrote yesterday it was still a day to celebrate. The 12 remaining boot campers have become my family and I am honored to call them that. To all of the boot campers I didn't get to talk to today I would like to say congratulations to a job well done. There were many days I'm sure you thought about throwing in the towel like so many before you but you pushed on. Be very proud of your accomplishments, you deserve to bask in the sun. I am so proud of every one of you.

This is just the beginning for each of you, what you have set into motion is unstoppable, even if you wanted to you couldn't. All of your hard work will come back to you ten fold.

Keep moving forward and I can't wait to hear/read your updates, there are so many of you right in the middle of so many things so please remember we are still here to help.

Congratulations again to all of the remaining Boot Campers - You are amazing!

As we near the end...

As Boot Camp is coming to an end I had the most wonderful call tonight. I would like to thank you Tess for joining me on the call tonight. You have been such a huge part of this entire Boot Camp. You say you have been in the background but I think you have been the back bone for many of the boot campers for the past few months. You are amazing with your supportive and uplifting words and a lot of the "campers" count on your comments each day.

Tomorrow will be bitter sweet. Although I am looking forward to taking a short break from the calls and getting back to my own team I will miss talking to all of you every day. We have become such a close family and I hope to meet all of you on the calls in the weeks to come, I look forward to reading all of your updates until then.

Tomorrow is technically the last official day of Boot Camp and we WILL celebrate, celebrate our achievements, our success and all that we have learned along the way.

Make tomorrow the best day of Boot Camp so far because I can't wait to hear how you plan to go on after Boot Camp!!!

Good night to you all...

Another Big Day for me and MPM

Today was a great day. I have not made any new contacts today or even been able to do follow up but what I did get done for MPM made it a great day and I chose to make it a great day! As I was listening to the podcast of when Phillip telling his story he called me, timing is everything. Thank you Phillip for putting things into perspective.

My big news today was launching the Blog Talk Radio for the PM calls. I can not wait to see what I can come up with to take MPM into every house with a phone OR a computer.

This week will be great for all of the boot campers and I am so glad to see what they have been doing.

Hope you all have a great evening and I will talk to you tomorrow.

I'm Baaaack!

Hello Everyone! I'm back! Last week I was extremely sick with the stomach flu, I could only pretend up to a point that I was functional. I did what I could but I was so wiped out it was tough to do much. Anyway... you all know I don't except excuses so I also won't give them.

So being back today meant I needed a plan for the last week of Boot Camp. My plan is to go all out. I need to follow up with every contact I have made through out the Boot Camp, I need to follow up again with the National MS Society (NMSS), I also need to contact my current teams.

So to get my week started I started with company follow up that I have not had time to do. I called and e-mailed many people that has requested additional information from MPM, I still have more to follow up with tomorrow.

Next I called Chris at the NMSS to see when we could schedule a call this week. He was on a conf call and we will talk in the morning. I want to check how the meeting went with corporate went. Since I am already fundraising for the 50K walk this year and I am on a committee for them I will be sharing MPM with the other teams that raise money for them. I would prefer to sign up other teams under the NMSS so I will give them some more time so I can build for them.

I also spoke with one of my contacts I have been speaking with regularly and got her signed up. Since her computer at her house is not working I signed her up for a Business Mall and she will be upgrading to the WC Mall tomorrow when she gets to school where she uses the computer. She needs to make money more quickly and understands that can only be done w/ a WC Mall.

That's it for the day but again, today is only Mon. See you all tomorrow.

How sweet it is

The days are long but its a good thing I'm having fun while I'm running through the chaos. Today I ran to Staples as soon as they opened so I could grab a few office supplies I have been out of for far too long and just as I was getting the kids unbuckled my youngest got sick all over herself; so it just teaches me I should ALWAYS order EVERYTHING on my mall, I do know better but I did need the stuff today. As I was having to buckle them back into their seats, yes, my daughter covered in vomit (sorry to be graphic) she taught me something... What has happened has happened and you can't change it so lets move on. You would have never known by looking at her that anything was wrong with her, once I wiped her face with the only wipe left in my diaper bag she was just as pleasant as always. She teaches me something every day and it is usually that most things don't need to phase you or ruin your day, she is amazing!

Now on to Boot Camp, I gave Ginny a quick overview on BTR, today was her first time hosting the show and then I joined in on the call. I was able to make some follow up calls and talked to 2 people. One said she would sign up at school tomorrow, she tried before but said she couldn't find where to go. The next said I am not putting you off but my computer has been infected and his son in law was helping fix it. I will get back to him tomorrow to check in on him.

I am heading to bed to see if I can ward off the germs running around my house, I have been feeling them for a few days.

Have a great day.

TWCCTW Radio

Let's start by talking about the new TWCCTW Radio show I started today... How fun, how fun! It was of course a learning experience for me but none the less I am so excited about where I can take this. I did have a few questions on my blog from yesterday about how will people sign up? The answer is the same as it would be if an MPM member sent someone to the boot camp calls. If you have introduced someone to the radio show you should be sure they know how to sign up with you and you should be sure to follow up. If not of course they could go directly to MPM corporate site and sign up but again, if you sent someone to the show they should have your link to go to. Going forward I plan to have some guests on, maybe I could run a contest to have members come up with a show topic and then the winners could promote their sites. Please understand I am just thinking aloud here... nothing set in place yet, I just love when thoughts come to me and then I just see it expanding far beyond what the imagination can come up with. Let's see what comes from this one.

Now lets get to the update. I made several follow up calls today and I only spoke to 2 people. One said I have not forgotten about you, I am still going to sign up, can you call me tomorrow and walk me through it? Well, of course I can. This is a man I had such great conversations with each time we spoke. The next asked that I call back at a better time when the kids went down for a nap, I did and her line was busy for almost 30 min. so since I was out of time I moved her to tomorrow.

Tomorrow is my daughter's birthday so I will be doing the show in the morning and making my follow up calls and calling it a day to celebrate what a beautiful little girl I have and how I was so honored to have her join our family, make that make us a family 7 years ago. We have been through a lot in 7 years but she needs to be celebrated and that is exactly what we will be doing tomorrow!

Have a great one...

What an exciting journey we are about to take...

As I said on the call tonight I have not done my part as far as the contacts and follow ups are concerned with boot camp because I am preparing to launch the new Together We Can Change The World Radio show. We will start the morning Boot Camp Calls on the Radio show tomorrow and hopefully have the evening calls on the radio by Mon. Why do I say hopefully? Well because we will need to have 500 downloads of our podcast (the recording of the show) before we can air our show between the hours of 6 - 11 PM. With the amazing MPM members and how quickly we get things done I have no doubt it can be done quickly.

I am going to go in and update the Boot Camp Website now to reflect the new call in # so everyone will have it. I will talk to you all then.

Tuesday, January 27, 2009

What fun, what fun, what fun it is!

My Boot Camp to do list has been behind the scenes for 2 days now. I have spoken with a few of you outside the calls, read all of the blogs, hosted the PM call and updated all of the recorded calls links. Yes, I know, you have all been waiting to get a hold of those and now you have it.

I did make a few follow up calls today and didn't get to a few more. I got to leave messages with some great answering machines/voice mails (as Ed would put it) so I don't feel like I made any forward momentum on that end but I am excited about all I learned today about launching our own radio show. I am hoping to be doing our last 2 weeks of boot camp on the blog talk radio show. I have done some research today and am going to get back to it now so I will talk to you all on the call tomorrow.

Monday, January 26, 2009

What to say about today?

Today I had done a few follow up calls and had not reached anything but answering machines, yes Ed, I have joined your world. I did however get a call from Chris at the National MS Society to let me know he did get the #'s I sent over for his meeting this week.

The rest of my day was spent on working on TWCCTW and MPM items. On the M Team call we got to see the finished project of the marketing videos that are now available as of tonight. I have a few ideas to get over to Ginny but as you all heard on the call tonight she has several more already in the works. This is going to be huge for our members and TWCCTW. I can only imagine how many children we will be helping this year as the company grows.

My bigger project today was to get a plan together for our new radio show. I'm not going to give it all away before I go over the plan w/ Ginny but this is something I am so excited about. With the radio show and all of the social networking we are looking at doing as well as all of the blogging everyone is doing this company is about to explode and I can't wait to be a part of the charge that sets it in motion.

That is all for today, I will talk with you all tomorrow.

This day has flown

I don't know how 17 hours can fly so fast. It has been a great day and I talked to a lot of people today about MPM. I made MANY follow up calls although I only connected with a couple. One who had said she wanted to get started the other day but never signed up. When I called today she was very glad I did. I asked if she had gotten back to the link I sent her and she said yes, she had. I then asked if she was ready to get started and she said yes, what do I need to do. I explained how to go back to the link and sign up for her own mall. She does not have internet access at home right now so she does it from school and the library. She said when she got to school today that she would sign up. I told her I would give her a call in the morning to go over how to get her started. This may be a little harder then most because she will not be able to be on a phone and the computer at the same time. I told her I want to get her to a place to be able to get her service back at her house. I know she wants this and needs it. This afternoon I got an e-mail saying Lisa had requested more info. Again, I think this one may be a little more work, but I know her why and I would love to help her reach her goals. I will call her back in the morning and help her get signed up for real this time.

Tomorrow I have a call scheduled w/ The National MS Society to talk about #'s. They are meeting with their National office face to face and they want to discuss MPM. I have been working with the National MS Society for 8 years now, they are a second family for me and my family. I have been talking to them about MPM since Oct. 2007 or there about. The President, Chris has said to me since day 1 "Why wouldn't anyone do this?" - my sentiments exactly. He has been behind me 100%, why wouldn't they be, it brings in money for their chapter, but... the National office took control away from them just as they were about to get started. They were told the national office was looking into several options very much like MPM and would get back to them. Now more then a year later they still have the breaks on. Chris and I touch base at least every other month if not more often. He always asks about MPM and I always keep him updated. Just before the end of the year I called them and said look, here is whats going on, it's time to get you all set up and running. Then when the new Free NPO WC Mall was released I went back again and said lets get you signed up today. I have never pushed this on them but this is huge and can help them in such a big way. And yes, I'm a little selfish, I want to help them find a cure for MS! So tomorrow I will go over #'s with Chris so that next week he is ready to take the bull by the horns. Who knows maybe I will fly to Chicago or where ever the meeting is so they can see my passion for this and that is is coming from my heart.

That's it for tonight! See you all on the call tomorrow.

Wednesday, January 21, 2009

Fun, Fun, Fun!

Since I flaked once again on my blog last night I decided it would be best to do it during the day. So here is what has happened so far...

I made 4 new contacts called back 8 follow up calls and even talked to a few. One did not think this was for her so I offered her a Personal Mall and she excepted. One of the contacts I made today is looking at the video as I type and we will see how that works out. I rescheduled all of the follow up calls that I didn't reach and now I am off to make more COC contacts.

See you all on the call tonight!

Where did I go?

Well yesterday did not only feel like a kick in the butt but a huge kick in the head. Some time around 5 o'clock I could feel a migraine coming on. I used to get migraines every day of my life, matter of fact I don't remember too many days, even when I was growing up, that I didn't have one. Some were of course more severe then others, I won't get into the gory details but they used to be bad enough that I would have to go to the hospital and get injections. Unfortunately that specific drug got released to the public in pill form and became 1/10 the strength of what I used to get in the hospital. Anyway, I have not been getting migraines very often for awhile and so when they hit, they hit hard. I am no longer numb to the daily pain so it took me down hard. Ginny helped cover the evening Boot Camp call so I could crawl back under the covers and into darkness.

Yesterday was not a total loss though. I did have a follow up call w/ a local Chamber of Commerce. They said they didn't know if this was something they would consider but they did invite me to the community event being held in Feb. for NPO's. She said she would take another look but it might be something I should attend and do on my own for their NPO's. After we hung up the phone I ran some #'s for them and e-mailed them over so she could see a clearer picture. I will follow up with another phone call on Wed.

I also received an e-mail from another Chamber of Commerce in our area that said they would like to proceed. I e-mailed her back to set up an appointment and the response I got was that they were not ready for that yet that the board needed to review it. I think what she meant in her first e-mail was they would like to look at it. I will send some #'s to her today and give them a week to review it. I will call on Thurs. to find out when the next board meeting is so I can come in and speak with them.

I had a few follow up calls scheduled for yesterday, I received answering machines during the day and had to reschedule the ones for the evening.

I will update again tonight!

Thursday, January 15, 2009

Too much fun!

What a great day. I decided to call a few of the test leads today and met such great people. The stories are too long to tell but the conversations were great to have. I have several follow up calls already scheduled for tomorrow and I can't wait to make them.

The Boot Campers are doing amazing things right now and they are finding their "place" so to speak. They are finding the way this business works for them. I love hearing the energy, pride and confidence coming from the updates on the calls.

Today, I will cut this short and head to bed. Talk to you tomorrow on the call.

Can you believe it?

...I have never been at a loss for words but as I sit down to write an update I don't have much to say. I'm sure it has something to do with the time. It is 2:30 AM. I get insomnia while my husband is out of town and this time he has been gone for awhile, I think when he gets back the first thing I will do is sleep!

On to business, today has been a fun day but I did also take some time off for family tonight. I did several follow up calls today and spoke with a lead from last night. He hung up saying he was going to go sign up tonight, he wasn't on his computer and the room his computer is in is freezing so he needed to turn the heater on for a bit before he could go in. I will check in the morning to see if it happened but he will be a great MPM member.

I also spoke with another contact tonight that said she didn't think it was for her because she doesn't do on line shopping and she already gets a % back from her AMEX card and wouldn't buy a card on line. I had to chuckle because she was very excited about the concept the day before. I will check back in a week or two to see if she is making money on every purchase yet and since she won't be I will see if she will be ready to.

I also got a lot of voice mails and rescheduled those call backs.

The momentum going through the boot camp is contagious and things are all falling into place. I am so proud of everyone and I look forward to reading all of your blogs in the morning.

Wednesday, January 14, 2009

And things are falling into place!

aaaahhhhh, it's happening. Things are starting to fall into place for so many people. Here is the run down from tonight's call:

Sandy has a new WCM sign up
Ed has a new BM that is upgrading to a WC Mall tomorrow once she gets paid
Brenda has a new PM that after a conversation the member will be upgrading to a BM

I did a call w/ Ed to help him move past his fears and I think it helped; and he got a great new team member out of it! Congrats Ed.

I also grabbed one of the leads that came in tonight to test one out. I had the best call w/ Don who is Gina's (Gina was the leads name) Dad. He is concerned about all of his 5 grown kids in this economy, with good reason. He went to watch the video and was showing his daughters in the morning. I will call him back tomorrow evening and I can't wait to work with this man. He has a great heart and is all about giving back, boy... does he sound like a great match for TWCCTW or what?

I need to head to bed but I can't wait to hear all about the progress the morning campers have to share.

Tuesday, January 13, 2009

I did it again?

Oh my Goodness, I did it again! I finished my day around 2 am and I didn't blog in all of the 19 hours I was awake and working, how is that possible. I told the Boot Camper's if they didn't blog during the holiday break it would be a hard habit to get back into. I wasn't speaking from experience then but now I certainly am.

Let me get you caught up on what's been happening on my end. I have not been keeping up with boot camp, not as far as my personal business is concerned, that's the plain ugly truth.

What I have been doing is working all day long to make things better for all of the boot campers as well as the company. I have been getting a new lead system together and running. The new system is called PM Dialer and here's how it works. There is a phone survey that calls all of your leads for you and then it tells you who wants to talk to you about the business. If you have ever worked with leads before you know it can't get better then that! So while I am running the dialer I send out the leads that come in to a group of Boot Camp testers. Our testing group is following up with the leads and sending me the results. They are mostly positive so far and this is going to be an amazing way to grow your business. We should kick it live on Mon. Now, we understand that not everyone will be able to afford a dialer system so we will run them corporately and be able to sell the amazing leads directly to our members. Can you tell I am excited about this?

I have a lot of things on my marketing plate but I promise to be back to the grindstone with boot camp soon. I have a few follow up calls to make so I am going to run.

Catch the wave...

I received an e-mail tonight from Aletha with part of Big Z and Mom's blog. They were very sweet words that I may not have know had been said if she had not taken the moment to send my way. Thank you Aletha!

I didn't know where she got it so I logged into my blog to see if Big Z's Mom had left a comment on one of my posts... not there. I looked through my followers to see if I could find her blog... not there. Where to go, where to go. Well since Aletha sent it I checked her blog and found them as a follower. I checked Big Z and Mom's blog and who knew, not only did she have some very nice and supportive things to say about many of us from the M Team but she is also a great writer. I was intrigued and I read on and on. Thank you, thank you, thank you Big Z's Mom, I can't wait to hear both of your success stories!

My plan was to turn in early tonight, for me that's any time before midnight because I didn't get any sleep last night but it's going on midnight now and I still have lots to do before I turn in. Not to worry; why? Because what we have started today could keep me rolling for weeks even with no sleep. So let me back up and tell you how my day started and what has happened since then.

Yesterday never really ended for me... My son was coughing all night so he also thought he should just get up and "hang out" with me. I finally got him to close his eyes around 2:15 and wouldn't you know it my youngest (who turned 2 Sat) woke up at 2:30. WHAT?!? She NEVER wakes up. After she goes back down Brandon is back. Get him back to bed and finally fall asleep around 4:30. Yes, when to bed around 4:30 am and then guess what... 6AM and Brandon is up and ready to play like it's a normal day.

OK, enough about my sleep drama let's get to the good stuff. I got started knowing I had some good stuff to do today. I took the morning call off and started contacting the 12 Chamber of Commerce President's. I did not reach anyone so I left a voice mail for all of them and rescheduled the follow up call for Fri. morning.

Next a call w/ the Boot Camp alternates, I do a weekly call w/ the Alternates so they can also get the personal treatment.

I met with my last client (for the last time today - I am finally done w/ all of the contract work I used to do in addition to MPM but no longer had time for) and then it was time. I sat down and opened up the new PM Dialer System we are launching with corporate testing today. I learned a lot and got even more energy knowing what was about to begin. I spoke with the owner to get the survey loaded into the system and when it was ready so was I.

I spoke with Ginny and I think she was bursting with energy and anticipation as much as I was. I started to dialer and then she called (after the 4 times I called her in less then 5 min.) and said "Do I get to see this thing?!?". The dialer had barely started by the time the surveys started getting filled out. I sent out the leads to be worked on and did a couple of test calls myself. They were the best lead calls ever - by far. Once we test this on the corporate level it is going to explode within the company. Not everyone will be able to afford a dialer system of their own but everyone will have it available if the test gets us the results we feel our member's deserve. Member's will also have the option to buy leads from the corporate dialer system.

I am riding the 2009 energy wave (Big Z's Mom wrote about it in her blog). It's a Dialer High that is keeping me going at 12:30 but for now I will say enough is enough and call it a day.
